Tigers, Skulls and Flowers

Im pretty excited with a lot of the work I have been doing lately. One of my regular clients Gary decided to let me go crazy on his arm and do some of my new geometrical stuff. I am really trying to push forward with my new stuff so it rules whenever I get a chance to break it out.

171 Tattoo

So after years of the Way Cool name we have finally changed to 171 Tattoo. The change has been in the works for a long time and was part of our ongoing renovations at the shop. There is still a bit of work to do in the shop but we finally got our new signage up. Everyone has been doing some really good work lately so make sure you check out what they've all been up to at the studio.

Did You Bring Me Presents?

Last Thursday was my nephews third birthday. Ari is such a funny little guy and always manages to know that I will give him lots of presents. As soon as I walk in the house he is sitting at the table asking where the presents are. We had pizza and some chocolate mousse cake that was covered in chocolate ganache. Ari also requested that we sing happy birthday numerous times and he even did a couple of solo versions.

Infinite Tom

I bought a bunch of books on Islamic geometry on my last trip to Malaysia and have just been immersing my mind in them. Out of this immersion has come a lot of very abstract drawings involving classic tattoo imagery and crazy shapes and patterns. Most of these drawings are quite intense and I had believed that people would only see them in my paintings but then along came Tom. Tom is a really good friend of mine and has a few tattoos from me already but once he saw my new drawings he was really into the idea of getting one tattooed on him and i was super into the idea of doing it. It's always nice to get to do something that you really love. I am getting to do another one next week so lets hope Tom has started a trend.
Tom also enjoys a good rant, or does he enjoy listening to me rant. Im gonna go with number 2 on that one so check out his blog that he started with another friend Hesh.

Just Words

It's amazing how much writing I tattoo on a regular basis and to be quite honest I do rather enjoy doing it. It also helps if I can break out an open 9 in my Seth liner and crank up the volts on someones arm.

The Definition Of A Bad Sit.

So the last few weeks have been pretty busy at the studio and I have been getting to do a bunch of cool stuff although when you're having fun there's always someone around to spoil it, this happened last Thursday. After having my first 2 clients get tattoos on their ribs and sit beautifully I had Mr third who again wanted a rib tattoo and then proceeded to take the definition of a bad sit and run to freakin China wit it. Now I understand that tattoos on the ribs bloody hurt but this guy contorted and wriggled like a snake whenever I got near him with the needle. Lets just say we only got part of the outline done and Im not sure if he'll be making his next appointment. Anyway here's one of the people who did sit remarkably well while I had fun with the bunch of straight lines 5 stars involve.
